Capacity Building — Leadership Training Programme
Value Rebirth and Empowerment Initiative (VREI), in partnership with The African Centre for Leadership, Strategy and Development (Centre LSD), runs an annual tuition-free leadership school in Effurun-Warri, Delta State. The Leadership School came on stream on the 10th of June 2017 as the first of its kind in the South-South (Niger Delta Region), training leaders by unravelling the complexity of leadership and offering a framework focused on leader development.
At the school, there are presentations, group work, interactive sessions, coaching, mentoring and assignments supervised by faculty. Physical meetings take place every second Saturday of the month from 9am to 3pm at Shamar School Hall, along Enerhen-Udu Road, near Ecobank, Effurun-Warri, Delta State. Participation is tuition-free, but students are expected to buy at least ten textbooks on leadership. A certificate of participation is given to students who complete the necessary attendance, assignments, and Community Development Service.
The Effurun-Warri Study Centre has graduated 182 participants in three years.
