VALUE REBIRTH AND EMPOWERMENT INITIATIVE (VREI) COMMUNICATION/MEDIA AND ITS POLICY.

POLICY STATEMENT: VREI respects fully the fundamental rights of her staff, management, every other agency and individual whom we relate with. These include human rights in national constitution and international convention resolutions. Therefore, any part of this policy which interferes with the rights of her staff and corporate rights of her affiliates will not be enforced. Every staff should understand this policy and be willing to comply by it.

PURPOSE: This policy exists to foster timely, accurate, comprehensive, authoritative information as well as provide an effective and efficient framework to facilitate the timely dissemination of information, visibility for VREl and improved livelihood of humanity.

SCOPE: The policy applies to every staff and management as well as Members of Board of Directors/Advisors. This policy covers internal and external communication facilities, 1T hardware/software, electronic and social media covering radio, television, email, twitter, facebook, U-tube, telecommunication gadgets and print media which include Newspapers, magazine, newsletters, fliers and periodicals etc.


 

VALUE REBIRTH & EMPOWERMENT INITIATIVE (VREI) YOUTH POLICY

POLICY STATEMENT: VREI has great value and respect for all humans and recognizes the strength of youths in fostering development. They are potential investment if well harnessed. VREI as non-governmental organization has as her Vision of a Nigerian society with value driven institutions for sustainable peace and development. Mission, to build citizens’ capacity, value re-orientation, mentoring and work through networks to ensure probity and accountability in governance and societal affairs

Policy Goal: The overall policy goal is to provide an appropriate framework that will promote the fundamental human rights and protect the health, social, economic and political well being of all young men and women in order to enhance their participation in the overall development process and improve their quality of life. The policy shall also ensure that youths who work with, for and on behalf of VREI Shall represent the entities accordingly within and outside the organization.

Coverage Areas: This Youth Policy highlights the importance of youth and their rights irrespective of socio-economic status, ethnicity, religion and gender. Youths shall participate in decision making, leadership, and development within and outside the organization. They shall have and express their fundamental human rights such as Freedom of speech, Expression and association within and outside VREI. They shall be protected and protect others from all forms of abuse, coercion, violence, exploitation, discrimination and degradation. They shall champion sustainable development, respect of the laws of the land and abstain from controversies. People with disabilities shall in no wise be treated with less respect but shall be aided to the best they can.


 

VALUE REBIRTH & EMPOWERMENT INITIATIVE CONFLICT OF INTEREST POLICY

POLICY STATEMENT: The vision of VREI is a Nigerian society with value driven institutions for sustainable peace and development. Conflict is a Disagreement or clash between ideas, principles or people. Conflict of interest arises when the interest of a trustee, staff or board could be different from the best interest of the organization. This may be something that affects the staff directly or indirectly. It could also arise when personal or work issues are not agreed on by two or more persons.

STATEMENT OF INTEREST: VREI IS Committed to ensuring that her work environment remain free from personal bias and do not unfairly favour any individual connected to or with the organization.


 

VALUE REBIRTH & EMPOWERMENT INITIATIVE PROCUREMENT POLICY

PURPOSE OF PROCUREMENT: The overall purpose of procurement regulations is to ensure that VREI gets the highest quality of services rendered. Further, the regulations are aimed at streamlining the process of procurement while maintaining adequate controls. These procurement procedures apply to all staff involved in the procurement process and to all types of procurement.

THE PROCUREMENT COMMITTEE: The VREI procurement committee shall be composed of Program, finance, and administration representatives.


 

VALUE REBIRTH & EMPOWERMENT INIATIVE FUND RAISING POLICY

INTRODUCTION: VREI is a non-governmental organization with the Mission to build citizen’s capacity, Value re-reorientation, mentoring and work through networks to ensure probity and accountability in governance and societal affairs, Vision is a Nigerian society with value driven institutions for sustainable peace and development. All donations solicited on behalf of the organization shall be used to further this mission and follow the policies and procedures outlined below.

POLICY STATEMENT: To develop her activities and achieve her objectives, VREI seeks diversified sources of funding which include cash contributions, material contributions, grants, sponsorships, and legacies from individuals, governments, public institutions, companies, foundations, NGOs, and alternative mechanisms that share a commitment to VREI vision and mission.


 

VALUE REBIRTH & EMPOWERMENT INIATIVE (VREI) HUMAN RESOURCE AND CONDITION FOR EMPLOYMENT POLICIES

Preamble: The following constitute the Human Resource Policies and Conditions of Employment for Value Rebirth and Empowerment Initiative (VREI). The Organization reserves the right to amend, alter, substitute, remove, add or change any of the provisions of this handbook, either in part or in whole without notice or consultation. The policies and conditions of Employment herein stated (together with future amendments) supersede all other policies or conditions of employment communicated orally or in writing. No staff of the Organization has the right to alter or amend any of the provisions of this handbook, except the general meeting of the executive management committee.

Human Resource/Personnel Strategy: VREI Personnel strategy is geared towards developing the human capital that will enable the organization attain its goals, vision and mission.

Conditions of Service: Job Description and Performance expectations On assumption/after Induction, the employee's job description and performance expectations would be handed to him/her in writing. Employee is expected to fulfill the performance expectations to a satisfactory level not below 80%


 

VALUE REBIRTH AND EMPOWERMENT INITIATIVE POLICY FOR VOLUNTEER AND INTERNS

Preamble: VREI appreciates the contributions of Volunteers and Unpaid Interns in fulfilling its mission. This policy provides general guidance within which departments may establish specific procedures pertaining to Volunteers and Unpaid intern.

Definition of Volunteer and Internship: Volunteers are individuals who donate their services, usually on a part-time basis, for public service, religious or humanitarian objectives, not as employees and without contemplation of pay. An intern is person who is undergoing professional or formal and informal educational training or support for a time within the organization or other organizations known and approved by VREL They are not considered full employees of this charitable, faith based, non-profit organizations. Also they are not primarily engaged for payment or to be compensated for the volunteer activity. They have no assurance or reason to expect VREI to offer employment following the volunteer period. The services must constitute a bona fide effort of the individual to volunteer for humanitarian or public service purpose or for the benefit of education, training or professional experience.

Level of opportunities: VREI gives equal opportunities to all persons she associates with unless it is otherwise stated. It is committed to ensuring that the recruitment and treatment of its volunteers and interns are carried out without prejudice regarding sex, marital status, race, nationality, ethnic origin, age, class, sexual orientation, color, disability or any other grounds which cannot be justified, thus making opportunities as accessible as possible Criteria for Volunteering or Participating in Internship and Duration Anyone, including retirees, students, alumni, or others may provide volunteer service or perform internship activities. His or her age remain at the discretion of the Director or management. The initial period for volunteering should be no longer than 6 months. The relationship may be extended for an additional 6 month terms with appropriate departmental review and approvals.
